Consciously set boundaries

Much of life is a game. It’s beautiful, entertaining, fun and makes people laugh. But everything has its limits. The aim of “NOT A GAME“, the new prevention project run by the Basel Victim Support team, is to make young people and the young at heart aware of this boundary and encourage them to say “stop” in good time.

The campaign does this in a playful way. In the retro style of computer games, NOT A GAME draws attention to the fact that there are important boundaries that each person sets for themselves. And which must be respected.

NOT A GAME uses positive messages. Terms such as “violence”, “victim” and “perpetrator” are deliberately avoided. The context is only conveyed indirectly via images. They refer to situations that have the potential to hurt people. For example, when too much alcohol is involved, when dealing with new media becomes problematic or when people are discriminated against.

Stickers and lanyards can be ordered free of charge from the website www.opferhilfe-beiderbasel.ch/not-a-game, and various subjects are available to download as screensavers and wallpapers for computers and cell phones.

The campaign was launched on social media and will be developed step by step over the next few months.

NOT A GAME helps you to say stop, to set boundaries for yourself and others.
