An audio walk on mental health

How can you promote your own mental health? What does it mean when someone suffers from an anxiety disorder or depression? And how can relatives support those affected? Answers to these questions are provided by an audio walk along the banks of the Rhine in Basel.

Ten years ago, the Melchior Foundation and the Psychosocial Working Group Association (PSAG) merged to form the Rheinleben Foundation. It supports people with a mental illness and is committed to their individual development and recovery as well as their autonomy.

To mark its 10th anniversary, the Rheinleben Foundation has set up an audio walk on the banks of the Rhine in Basel on the subject of mental health. Listeners receive helpful information at four audio stations. They are made aware of their own mental health and how to deal with affected people. Not only specialists have their say, but also people who are experts based on their own experience: Those affected and their relatives.

QR code and cell phone

Posters on the banks of the Rhine draw attention to the audio walk. QR codes are attached to them, which can be used to call up the contributions with a cell phone. The starting point is at Stachelrain, the end point at the barracks (more information on the flyer).

The Rheinleben Foundation’s anniversary campaign will run until November 9. You can also listen to the contributions from the comfort of your own sofa(here is the link).

The four stations are dedicated to the following topics:

  • Inputs for your mental health
  • Depression, anxiety disorder & co: sufferers speak plainly
  • Living with mental illness. Stories that give courage.
  • Is someone close to you mentally ill?
